The Blue Ribbon Tack store located in Alfred, Maine, carries consignment and new tack for all disciplines including Western and Dressage. We stock just about anything you may need for your horse and for yourself, whether you are new to the horse world or have been involved in the sport for years. There are used saddles for sale as well as day to day horse products like shampoo, new halters, and treats.

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Christine Saltmarsh and I am the
new owner of Blue Ribbon Tack. I can't thank Sara enough for giving me
this opportunity and her ongoing support. For those of you who've been
clients of Sara's I thought I'd share a bit about myself to make the
transition a little easier.

I've been a homemaker for the last 13 years and started homeschooling our
children 7 years ago. I started learning about horses about 6 years ago
alongside my horse crazy daughter while she took lessons. Her instructor,
Buffy Shapleigh, owner of Burgundy Hill Farm, has not only been a teacher to
my daughter but also a good friend and mentor to me. She puts up with my
child like curiosity and constant barrage of questions and information
gathering. My daughter's love of horses has created a fascination within
me.
Just like you, I've always wanted our children to pursue whatever their
dreams are. I've just tried to do it without busting our budget. On the
other hand, I know that to be competitive, especially in showing, you can't
compromise on style and quality. The logical answer to this challenge is a
consignment shop that carries quality, in style, reasonably priced clothing
and tack. That is my goal for Blue Ribbon Consignment and Tack. I want
this shop to be a win-win situation. I want to help make riding an
affordable and accessible hobby for families and at the same time I want to
provide people an outlet where they can turn their horse related items into
cash.

| I'm really excited, not only about running the shop but about growing it and
changing it in order to meet the needs of our customers. As you may have
noticed, one of the changes that I've made is to change the name from Blue
Ribbon Tack to Blue Ribbon Consignment and Tack. I feel that this name more
clearly represents what type of shop we are. We will accept, on
consignment, any horse related item that is in good, usable condition. We
will also be carrying some gift items, handcrafted items by local artisans,
and more. In the near future we will have items available for purchase on
the website so please keep checking back!
